About Anna Part 2 – The Girl Behind the Brand
The inspiration and force behind Juniper & Pine derives from a lifetime of experiences and invaluable relationships. From never leaving the country to weekend travels across Europe, to taking quiet moments to appreciate nature’s beauty and the love of my friends (furry & human), family, and my husband who’s home with me now (he was deployed prior)… all this and more are what motivate me and give me happiness and fulfillment. Here’s a quick peek into my world and into some of my most cherished experiences.
Finding Beauty through Photos
I fell in love with photography when I was studying to be a Journalism major at Temple University. Learning what I could do with film was enthralling and motivated me to get out, see the world and capture these memories with photos.
As a big romantic, I found my niche in wedding & couples photography. It’s amazing to see all the wonderful ways people show their love for each other and sometimes, they’re even surprised to see how much their love shows to the outside world. Capturing moments of love and pure emotion is one of the best feelings in the world.
Conquering Fears and Seeing the World
When I followed my husband to his new post in Germany, I knew I was in for a big change. I had to conquer my fears of flying on a plane, get used to a language and culture I didn’t know at all, get used to the new foods and ways of the people here, and make new friends all over again.
But together, we did it and it has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Since then, we have been able to travel all over Europe together, tasting authentic Italian food in Florence, taking my sister to Mykonos, walking down the cobblestone streets in Santorini, and more. I’ve seen sights I’ve only ever dreamed of and found inspiration in the unlikeliest of places. It’s been quite an adventure, but I know I never would have been able to do it without the support of my dedicated husband and my two furry best friends!
Furry Friends and Nature
I have always loved animals. At 9 years old, I begged my mom to get me a horse, and I quickly took up horseback riding. Even now in Germany I still frequent the stables, riding as much as I can! My sister and I had other pets growing up, and a goldfish that outlived all of the other fish. And of course, a few years ago, I fell in love with those adorable corgi eyes in the shelter.
I couldn’t imagine a life without my corgi, Adobe and my horse, Aspen. These two have been an important part of my life, filling me with love and peace. Also, having pets means I have to get up and moving!
Feeling at one with nature, whether star-gazing, hiking, or growing my own herbs and flowers has always given me a feeling of peace and calm.
For me, stepping into a garden evokes a bit of magic. The beautiful flowers, aromatic earth, and leafy grass and herbs, they are both grounding and awe-inspiring at the same time. My love for nature was a strong, motivating force when it came to formulating my products. Since I was a child growing up in my mother’s garden, to now decorating my house in whatever way I can with plants, I have always adored being surrounded with blooming buds and leafy greens.
With all of Juniper & Pine’s products being plant-based, I can still have a little bit of nature with me wherever I go.
